What this site collects
The only personal data this site actively collects is the email address you submit through the "The Business of Events" newsletter form. That address is used solely to send you the newsletter and is passed to our newsletter provider (Substack) to manage delivery and unsubscribes.
Third-party embeds
Some pages embed content hosted by third parties — LinkedIn posts and YouTube videos. When those embeds load, LinkedIn and YouTube (Google) may set their own cookies or collect data under their own privacy policies, independent of this site. We don't control that data collection.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand traffic in aggregate — pages viewed, general location (city/country level), device and browser type, and how visitors arrived. Google Analytics sets cookies to do this and processes the data under its own privacy policy. This data is aggregated and isn't used to identify you personally.
What this site doesn't do
No advertising trackers, and no data is sold to third parties. Google Analytics, described above, is used only for aggregate traffic measurement — not ad targeting. Beyond that, data is only shared with what's needed to deliver the newsletter (Substack) and the embeds described above.
Your rights (including LGPD, Brazil)
If you're in Brazil, your data is also protected under the LGPD (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados). You can ask to see, correct, or delete any data associated with your email address, or simply unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter issue. To make a request, email [email protected].
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date above will change to reflect it.
